Find Your Dream Job

Searching for a job can be a long process. Since the recession there has been a huge increase in the amount of people looking for work, which means that the competition for jobs advertised has risen.

With this said, you need to be able to make yourself stand out from the crowd so you can land that all important vacancy you want.

There are many places that you can search for jobs, but the internet is probably the most popular and most people find it the most successful avenue to use. You can spend time trawling individual company’s websites to find vacancies they have available or you could visit one of the job boards where many jobs are listed on an hourly basis.

You could also opt to use a job agency that will take a copy of your CV and search companies for you to find a position that you have the relevant level of experience and skills to apply for.

If you get that feeling of dread every morning before work or you come home stressed and at the end of your tether every evening then it may be time to look at your chosen career and really ask yourself if this is your dream job?

Everyone has ups and downs at work but if your unhappy everyday then it’s time to make a change. The first thing to do when looking for a change in career is to ask yourself what you enjoy doing and what you’re good at.

Then look up the types of qualifications that you would need and research the easiest route in to your chosen industry. This may be an apprenticeship position where you can study as you work, getting qualifications and experience at the same time.

Sometimes you need to just take the plunge and go for your dream position, it will be hard work but if it’s something you love it’ll be worth it.

If your dream career has always been to act then you owe it to yourself to act on that and make it a reality.

Most people who have landed big screen acting roles have happened to be in the right place at the right time but is it all down to luck? Not exactly.

Firstly to have a successful career in acting you will need to gain some qualifications, this is usually in the form of a degree however there are various types of acting courses and qualifications available.

You will also need to get as much experience within different roles as possible, you can do this by joining a dramatics group at the theatre and attend various auditions for things such as advert and small roles that come up in your area. To make a bit of money then extras work can be good with most paying up to £100 a day, it does involve a lot of waiting around but is a great way to experience the world of television acting first hand.

If you have a real passion for fashion then a job in retail could be perfect for you, it’s a great job that can earn you plenty of commission if you work hard and know your stuff about the fashion industry.

So where do you start, well a lot of high end fashion outlets will be looking to recruit staff that have some qualifications and experience in the world of fashion, they will also be looking for someone with a great sense of style and lots of confidence so the best way to build up to this is to start a course in fashion design. Whilst you are studying it would be advisable to get a part time job in a clothes store, ideally a department store or higher end high street chain to give you a good start on your CV.

When you have qualified and you apply for your dream job ensure you have done plenty of research about the brand and know lots about current and up and coming fashion trends that you may be asked about, above all be confident and smile.
