When you are in a job that you’re unhappy in it can feel like your trapped in a vicious cycle of going to work, having a bad day and coming home exhausted and deflated leaving you feeling like you have no energy to start the job hunting process.
For most people looking for a new job can be very daunting with the worries of writing your CV, filling in job application forms and attending interviews so it’s easy to put of the search, however if you are serious about wanting to change your job you’re going to have to put the work in.
The ideal thing would be to take some days holiday to be able to dedicate full days to looking for new positions however if your remaining days holiday are few keep in mind that you may need them at a later date to attend interviews.
If this is the case then its best to set yourself dedicated ‘job hunting’ time each evening, after you have had a rest and eaten your dinner allow yourself 45mins to search and apply for any jobs that you think look promising. Dedicating a specific amount of time means you are less likely to procrastinate and should be able to be quite productive during that period and it’ll all be worthwhile once you land your dream job.
